“If you are looking for a lightweight hammock kit, the Quicksilver gives any system some stiff competition… For me, simplicity is perfection. Some hammocks have so many tie-outs, guy lines, and storage pockets that it becomes a self-made booby trap with unused accessories. The Quicksilver system, in contrast, is streamlined, light, and simple. It’s ideal for folks who want the benefits of sleeping in a hammock, but would rather soak in the views of the outdoors instead of collecting shelves of “bling” to complicate the experience.”
Weight: 20.0 oz. + .8 oz. stakes included
The Quicksilver Storm Tarp is the upgraded version of the The QuickSilver Ultralight Tarp. It is 11’ x 8.5’ in size and constructed of 30D 1.1 oz sil-nylon. The storm tarp is a catenary cut tarp with high-visibility reflective guy lines, 4 titanium stakes and a stuff bag. It weighs in at 20 oz with lines and stakes, storm doors for truly foul weather and reinforced corner pockets to store the guy lines. The storm doors block the wind and offer a bit more privacy. Pull out lines attach to trees or vertical anchor points with a slippery sheet bend knot for no weight added suspension.
We remember the feeling well. You finally receive package you’ve been dreaming of only to find you need batteries… or that blasted elusive bolt. We don’t want any of you to feel that way about your hammock system. So yes, stakes are included! Titanium ones, with high visibility florescent heads. 0.2 oz super tough ultralight wonders, they are. So, go ahead and set your new system up. You have EVERYTHING you need.
*Hammock & Bug Net in photos sold separately.
Weight: 6.8 oz. – 7.1 oz.
The Vista Bug Net attaches to the hammock simply by slipping the net end loops over the suspension loops of the hammock. It features an attached 1/4″ MULETAPE® tension indicator protecting the integrity of the bug net and makes the perfect hang a simple process every time. The Vista includes a 24” zipper allowing you to slide the Bug Net completely out of the way for an unimpeded view when bug activity is low. For solid bug protection, slide the net back over the hammock and zip it up. A shock cord around the bottom cinches the net around you and keep the creepy critters from feasting on you as you rest. Ah yes, the shock cord! Such a simple thing that helps hold your under-quilt of choice against the hammock to prevent CBS… (Cold Butt Syndrome) You’ll use the Vista Net year round just for that reason!
Vista Net with attached ridge line will fit any 11′ hammock.
Use with a Bishop Bag for convenient stowing of your net when in the open air position.
Weight: 17.2 oz.
How many times have you tossed and turned in your sleeping bag or quilt or finding yourself too hot with it and too cold without it? It can be challenging to find the piece with just the right amount of insulation for every season. The Stratum 55 is a problem solver. This versatile and economic 800 down fill top quilt with 10% overstuff will go a long way towards dialing in your comfort level. During the summer, it’s just enough to keep you comfortable without overheating and without weighing you down. During the winter, enjoy an extra layer for your winter set up for added warmth and benefit from selective layering to help regulate your sleeping temperature more effectively. Top quilts are perfect for tree hangers and ground dwellers alike, with no zippers to damage your hammock, freedom of movement for ground dwellers, and comfortable insulation for all.
New to top quilts? This is why you want one.
When it comes to staying warm, loft is king! Top quilts are efficient. Unlike sleeping bags, top quilts put all of the insulation where you need it – – on top of you! Sleeping bags put part of the insulation beneath you rendering nearly half of it’s available warming potential ineffective. Also, have you ever wanted to just kick your leg out, or tuck your bedding between your legs? It can be hard to accomplish in a sleeping bag (at least without unzipping it – – effectively turning it into a quilt). So skip the formalities, save the added weight of a heavy 10ft. long zipper, use ALL of your available insulation, and take a quilt!
Weight: 1.9 – 3.7 oz. (per pair)
Simple Polyester Tree Straps for tree protection. Available in either 4′ , 6′ or 8′ lengths. Low-stretch, Flat Weave 1″ black Polyester webbing exceeds 1200# breaking strength per manufacturer. Use together with our MULETAPE® suspension straps for a ultralight, hardware free suspension solution for your hammock system that is safe for trees.
Weight: 0.6 oz. – 0.8 oz.
The Quicksilver Bishop Bag makes setting up and striking camp a breeze. The standard bag is large enough to store our Quicksilver 11′ Hammock with the Vista Bug Net attached (or similar set-up) . It features a button hole in the bottom of the bag to accommodate the other end of your hammock suspension loop for quick set up. Since the bishop bag stays attached to the hammock while in use, it is a great place to stow your Vista Bug Net which slides out of the way while not in use and makes the stow away process quick, clean and easy.
The deluxe version has enough room to hold a hammock, bug net AND a 20º down underquilt, dramatically cutting set-up and strike time by not having to add or remove your underquilt from your hammock each time.
COLOR: Dark Grey (standard); Black (deluxe)
Weight: 2.1 oz. (per pair)
Two 10’ straps of 1/2″ MULETAPE®. Oh, how we love MULETAPE®. So, much so that we don’t even mind that you can’t get it in any color but white. We knew it had to be a part of our QuickSilver Hammock System no matter what. This 1250 lb. test material is made of lubricated low stretch polyester. The MULETAPE® joins to the QuickSilver Hammock loops with a quick, simple and secure Becket Hitch knot. This knot is a cinch to tie, allows fine adjustments to be made with ease and tears down with just a tug. We’ve tested this knot in wet, cold and hot conditions. It holds strong and does not slip. And no hardware means zero weight added and fewer opportunities for hardware failure leaving you on the ground in the middle of the night.
A word about proper usage: We recommend using tree straps (or, tree huggers) that are, at minimum, 1 inch wide. This is good practice for protecting the trees we hang from. Furthermore, it should be noted that MuleTape has a loose weave and it will snag on tree bark. For these reasons, we do not recommend it for use without tree straps.
Use with our Polyester Tree Straps.
