In the past year we have moved into a new facility and uncovered a number of AntiGravityGear Appalachian Trail Mapdanas®. Increased production costs have forced us to drop the line years ago but we still get asked about them. And, we still really, really love them.
The data is from 2004 and is mostly still good. But you will find some things have changed. At 27″ x 27″ some call it oversized, but this is what a real bandana should be. They originally sold for $12.95. We are offering them for $4.95. Once they are gone… they are gone.
Featuring the same data from The A.T. Guide, by David Miller and weighing in at just 4 grams each, this waterproof, tear resistant, information rich strip-map features an Appalachian Trail map on one side and elevation profile with altitudes and trail data on the other. The map imagery includes high resolution GPS track, topographic maps, accurate road crossings and a bird’s eye view of points along the trail. The elevation profile side includes trail mileage, shelter locations, camp sites, water sources, resupply points, lodging, outfitters, and post offices and much more. AntiGravityGear’s long trail Pocket Profile Maps were listed in the April 2012 Backpacker Magazine Spring Gear Guide under the heading “The Ten Essentials”! A serious tool for trail use and hike planning.
Tyvek available by the foot! Make a footprint for your tent, ground cloth for your tarp or sleeping bag or an under hammock matt for your gear. This Dupont product is super tough, lightweight, and water proof. Sold from a 9 foot wide roll, buy the number of feet you want per linear foot. Cuts easily to size with scissors.
If you require a larger size than listed here, order two sizes that add to the number of feet you’d like and leave us an order note that you would like it to be cut as one continuous piece.
“When you consider the normal cost of Spectra cord, the AGG TreeLine is an insanely great deal at $21.95.” – Will Reitveld, Backpacking Light Magazine, July 2007
AGG TreeLine is a stuff sack with 40′ of high strength 750# flat weave Spectra cord. Ideal for bear bags or hanging your tarptent, the flat weave slides easily over tree limbs providing minimal damage to the tree yet is highly abrasion resistant. The cord-locked stuff sack is made of silnylon and provides a neat storage bag for the line but is made to use with a rock weight for throwing over tree limbs. I have found this to be an easy and accurate way to hang a line.
At a total weight of 1 ounce and a breaking strength of 750 pounds, this is the only line you need to take on the trail.
